Robust printer can cope with even the harshest of environments

A new, maintenance-free, on-line marking system is capable of printing onto a wide range of non-porous materials, while coping with harsh operating conditions.

A requirement to print onto a variety of materials from wood through to plastic extrusion would normally require a continuous ink jet printer. In a harsh environment, problems can occur if a printhead receives a knock and the handling of flammable liquids can require extra care. Spillages of anything that has to be poured are always a risk and also a potential hazard.

The new Apsolute printer from APS uses a simple, sealed cartridge that does away with the storage and dispensing of bulk liquids and provides a complete change of the whole ink delivery system with each cartridge change.  With no moving parts and a robust printhead and controller (sealed to IP65), the system requires no routine maintenance and sits comfortably in the most difficult of operating environments.
Print resolution can be varied from 60 to 600 dpi meaning that each user can select the balance between print quality and ink usage that best meets their business needs. Furthermore ink colour can be changed as easily as changing the cartridge – something other systems can only achieve after a labourious purging and re-filling process.
