ROTECH LAUNCH THEIR NEW OFF-LINE OVERPRINTER: THE FEEDER 250R Since their formation in 1996, Rotech have built an enviable reputation for the design and supply of off-line overprinting systems, though, until recently were only able to feed mainly cartons and sleeves on their Feeder 150 model. The introduction of the Feeder 250R allows for any product to be handled from single sheets of paper and card to medical device pouches and seed packets. Adding a Bell-Mark Thermal printer produces a highly versatile system that can overprint an area 128mm wide down the length of the pack in question. This print area can incorporate any combination of text, graphics and bar codes, including 2D, RSS codes. The new machine has been designed from scratch to provide maximum flexibility from what is essentially a  table-top unit. Products are ejected from the bottom of a stack in the hopper onto a transport conveyor which also acts as a platen for the continuous printer, meaning that the system does not have to stop and so maintains high output speeds. Printed products are collected in an adjustable catcher tray for ease of onward handling. A central PLC and display control all aspects of the machine’s function, including highly accurate print registration.
