Hot foil printers remain an established technology for coding, marking and overprinting date codes, batch codes, etc. onto a wide range of materials in the packaging industry. The principle of hot foil is that a heated metal die (engraved printing die) presses a dye-coated film (hot foil tape) against the packaging, leaving a coloured print. It has many advantages, e.g.: low cost of ownership, high print quality, clean and instantly dry and its excellent adhesion to packaging materials.
